Much more than waste, biomass is a versatile chemical powerhouse. Through pyrolysis—the thermochemical decomposition of organic matter—we unlock a vast spectrum of high-value products. The output depends on how we tune the technology. We precisely alter the temperature, residence time and other variables to dictate the final outcome.
For example, fast pyrolysis at lower temperatures maximizes liquid-phase products like bio-oil, while much higher temperatures maximize the gaseous-phase production of synthetic gas ("syngas").
